Practice Management

Our management team is led by the Practice Manager, who has overall responsibility for all aspects of the running of the practice. Currently the position of Practice Manager is temporarily covered by Dawn Brewer.

Our Assistant Practice Manager, Alison Tickner, is responsible for dealing with your complaints about the administration of the practice or medical aspects of your treatments. She will be pleased to help you.

Administration

We employ a team of administration staff, who are responsible for clinical correspondence and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the practice.

Our Secretarial team, led by Andrea Mann deal with referrals and hospital liaison.

Reception

Headed up by Tina Hack, the Reception Manager, who will deal with any questions or suggestions about practice services.
The receptionists have a difficult job to do, especially at busy times, so your patience is welcomed. They have been trained to ask particular questions to assist us in determining who it is you need to see, so please be prepared to give a few details. Anything you tell them is treated in the strictest confidence.

Community Midwives

The Midwives are involved in all aspects of maternity Care, holding Ante Natal and Booking Clinics at the surgery. The Booking In appointment is a lengthy first appointment which is then followed up with short check ups with the midwife and GP.
They also visit you at home with your baby, providing continuity of midwife where possible. Written information about screening tests and local classes are available alongside referral to the Royal Surrey County Hospital for two routine scans.

Community Nurses

The District Nurse is a registered nurse with an extra qualification in specialist community practice. They lead a team of community registered nurses and healthcare assistants visiting housebound patients with nursing needs. They provide:

Wound care management and pressure ulcer prevention
Care of IV central lines (including chemotherapy pumps), and Intravenous medication
Chronic disease management
Continence care
Palliative and end of life care

Health Visitors

A Health Visitor is a qualified nurse who has taken further training in child development and community health. They work within the local community and focus particularly on supporting expectant mothers, young families and children with special needs. The health visitors at Dapdune Surgery work closely with a qualified nursery nurse, and run a weekly baby clinic. Post natal clinics are also offered.
