Outbreak of Salmonella Newport

Whooping cough cases increase

Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in England and Wales have more than doubled from 421 cases in 2010 to 1040 in 2011. Increases in levels of whooping cough are seen every three to four years and figures in 2011 are in line with cases reported in the last peak year of 2008.

If your doctor regularly prescribes for you, he/she may feel it is appropriate to offer the facility to allow you to obtain further supplies of your medication without arranging further appointments.

You may obtain authorised repeats by any of the following methods:

ring the surgery and select option 2 on the telephone menu
hand in the repeat slip to Dapdune Pharmacy (next to the surgery)
through your local pharmacy if they offer an order and collect system
return your repeat slip to reception
write in with a stamped addressed envelope, and the prescription will be returned to your address. You should allow 3 working days for the request to be processed. The pharmacy may also require one or more working days to process the request.
