Vaccinations

Ante Natal Appointments
Held by a midwife on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Post Natal Appointments Can be made with your doctor during normal surgery times.

Children’s Immunisation Clinics
Held two Tuesdays in the month, run by the Practice Nurse.
Child Health Clinics
Held on Tuesday mornings between 10.00am – 12.00pm. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.
Children’s Development Review Sessions
By appointment with the Health Visitor.
Cervical Smear Appointments
Available on request with the Practice Nurse
Family Planning Appointments
The full range of family planning advice is available to both male and female patients. This is run by our Family Planning nurse. Coil and cap fitting appointments, as well as oral contraception, can be made at this clinic.
INR Clinics
Run by one of the Doctors and our Practice Nurse, Debbie Garland.
Diabetic Clinics
Held two Tuesdays in the month, run by Dr Jump and Dr Rimmer, the Practice Nurse (Debbie Garland), Podiatrist and Dietitian. Our diabetic patients are seen twice a year (or more frequently if required to help prevent complications of the disease).
Asthma Clinics
We have a weekly clinic run by our Practice Nurse, Ann Dawe, who is specially trained to promote quality asthma management. Telephone advice about asthma problems is available Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 12.15 pm to 12.45 pm.
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Clinics
Run by the Practice nurse, they monitor and help control high blood pressure.
Minor Operations & Cryotherapy Clinics
Appointments are made after discussion with your own doctor in normal consultation hours.

Test Results

Please do not call for results of tests at peak times (early mornings and afternoons).

Please note that the Receptionist is not able to give results without the doctor’s authority.

Non NHS Examinations

lady_exam Medical examinations can be undertaken by appointment for special purposes e.g.

elderly drivers medicals
pre-employment medicals
insurance medicals

For some of these appointments there may be a charge, and the current tariff is displayed in the reception area. These fees are a reflection of the total Doctor and administrative time taken to undertake services not covered by the NHS. Private policies do normally say there will be a charge. For some services the Doctors do not receive this payment directly from the insurance companies, which is why reimbursement is asked for from the patient.

Flu Immunisation & Pneumonia Vaccination Clinics

flu_jab Held annually in October and November. Appointments can be made in September.

Patients with asthma, diabetes, heart, kidney or chest diseases and also people over 65 are encouraged to attend.

Travel Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations and those required for foreign travel are given by the Practice Nurse.

Please note that not all vaccinations are available free of charge through the NHS - ask the receptionist to confirm the charges for the vaccination you require, if any.
Patients are encouraged to speak to the practice nurse about travel vaccinations ten weeks prior to leaving the country so they can produce an individual vaccination programme for each person – please ring to book a travel consultation call with the Nurse.
Please note that patients can also access travel vaccination information at www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk to establish what vaccinations they are likely to require.
