Making and Cancelling Appointments

We would like patients to be seen by the doctor with whom they are registered. This will help to ensure that the GP you consult is familiar with your medical history.

Appointments and cancellations can be made:

• in person
• by telephone
• online using our internet booking service
• by automated telephone booking service
  

If calling, please try to avoid our peak times, e.g. early morning and early afternoons, particularly after Bank Holiday weekends.

The online and automated telephone booking service are both available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Parking

Parking is only available when attending the surgery or on-site pharmacy.

Online Internet Booking Service

PLEASE NOTE: We are replacing our online appointment booking and repeat prescriptions system.

Online appointment bookings required up to 31st May 2013 can still be booked using the existing online system and over the phone. Repeat prescriptions may also be requested using the existing system up to 31st May.

Internet Booking for appointments up to 31st May 

In order to use the new online system and book online appointments from Monday 3rd June, all patients will have to sign-up at the surgery after 13th May 2013. Repeat prescriptions may also be requested using the new system.

Appointments can always be booked in person and by telephone via reception.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Repeat prescriptions can also still be requested by telephone direct to your local pharmacy.

Automated Telephone Booking Service

Our automated telephone booking service can be accessed via the surgery telephone number by selecting the appropriate option. Please ensure that your contact telephone numbers are up-to-date.

Home Visits

Home visits are intended only for the very ill or housebound. To enable the doctors to plan their calls, and to ensure that you are seen by your own doctor, it would be appreciated if, where possible, requests are made BEFORE 11 AM.

When requesting a visit, please give the receptionist as much information as possible, e.g. patient name, age address to be visited and telephone number.

The receptionist will ask for details of symptoms, so that an estimation of the urgency can be made by the Doctor. The Doctor will then phone back to make further arrangements.

SMS Reminders

We run an appointment reminder service via mobile phone SMS text message. We will send a reminder the evening before a morning appointment or a morning reminder for an afternoon or evening appointment
